Scream 4 – MTV News & Press Junket

Here’s a small video of Emma Roberts talking about “The Hunger Games” and “Pretty Little Liars,” this is actually part of the press junket for Scream 4, so hopefully more interviews will be released very soon. I’ve also updated the gallery with one picture of the event.

Emma Roberts sees dead people

Coming from E! Online:

In Scream 4, the young starlet plays a popular high school girl who has just broken up with her Big Man on Campus boyfriend, Trevor Sheldon (Nico Tortorella). And you better believe she witnessed a lot of bloody murders while making the movie, out April 15.”It’s funny but then kind of scary,” Roberts told me for today’s installment of Scream 4: New Generation Week, E! Online’s exclusive daily chats with the horror franchise’s fresh-faced stars. “When you’re in it, it gets kind of freaky.

“But then you can’t help but laugh when people have cuts all over them and they’re covered in blood, or have just had a death scene but they’re eating lunch with you,” she said. ”It’s just so weird.”

Roberts was told she had the role a couple of hours after auditioning for director Wes Craven via Skype. But what about her character’s name, Jill Roberts? Kinda creepy, no?

“I said, ‘What’s the deal with that?’” she said. “Jill Roberts? It also sort of sounds like Julia Roberts! But Wes said that was going to be the name always from years and years ago.”

Sounds like she and the Ghost Face killer were destined to be together.

Emma Roberts May Have the Hots for Odd Thomas

Coming from Dread Central:

More casting news has arrived, this time for the upcoming Stephen Sommers adaptation of Dean R. Koontz’s Odd Thomas. Nothing is confirmed, but holy cow is this list filled with eye candy!According to Variety Emma Roberts (pictured right; Scream 4), Lily Collins (Priest), Kat Dennings, Portia Doubleday, and Addison Timlin are on the shortlist to play the character of “Stormy Llewellyn,” the girlfriend of the title character in “Odd Thomas” (Anton Yelchin).

In the books Odd Thomas is silently approached by the ghost of a young girl brutally raped and murdered, and through his unique ability to understand the dead, he is psychically led to her killer, a former schoolmate named Harlo Landerson. With this opening, we are introduced to Odd’s world. Koontz soon discloses how Odd was named and begins, layer by layer, to show how Odd’s dysfunctional upbringing has shaped his life; and as those details are uncovered, his supernatural abilities begin to make more sense.

Emma Roberts on Scream 4 re-writes

Coming from Zap2it:

With “Scream 4″ just around the corner, fans of the franchise are getting antsy to see what twists and turns Wes Craven has in store this time around. Amidst the excitement of the first ‘Scream’ film in 10 years, there has also been concerns following rewrites of Kevin Williamson‘s original script.

Zap2it caught up with two of the series’ newest stars, Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere. We got the scoop on how they felt about the rewrites and when exactly they learned the identity (or is it identities?) of Woodsboro’s latest Ghostface Killer.

“I knew from the beginning who the killer was going to be. Whether it was me or somebody else,” Panettiere teases. “But the ending was definitely kept from us for a little while. They were writing it and rewriting it and playing around with it so we had an idea, a general idea of it but it was subject to change.”

“That’s kind of how it always is though,” Roberts adds. “Whenever you sign on to things you’re always getting new pages because you know, reading a script is one thing but making it come to life with all these different people that don’t know each other — or some do and some don’t — it’s like you kind of need to do some tweaks to fit everyone’s relationships.”

Adding, “It was all pretty normal stuff. It was nothing too crazy at all. My part never changed drastically, just the words.”

When we asked whether any of the storyline had changed from Williamson’s original script or if it was simply dialogue, Roberts reiterated that it was merely the dialogue that had been tweaked.

Many reports have stated that cast members were only allowed to read the first 75 pages of the initial script, but both girls tell us that that’s not true.

“I read the whole thing,” Roberts tells us. “They had me go to Wes Cravens house and read it, which was kind of intimidating, and then I auditioned and I got the part.”

As for Panettiere, more details were kept under wraps.

“I was in Germany, they had somebody fly to Germany to watch me read the middle part of the script,” Panettiere says. “So it had no beginning. It had no end. Just the middle part of the script. And that was, of course, subject to change.”

While both actresses knew the secret identity of Ghostface, not everyone on set had the same privilege. We asked Roberts who was in on the secret, and how many were left out in the cold.

“Everyone said they [knew], but I think they were just saying that,” Roberts recalls. “Because half of them really didn’t.”
